AudioUK’s Equity, Diversion & Inclusion

As the industry body dedicated to advancing the podcast and audio industry - by fostering innovation, supporting creators and businesses, and driving creative and commercial growth - AudioUK is committed to ensuring the APAs reflect the diversity of talent we have across the industry.

The Awards aim to be inclusive of all platforms and creators, across podcasts, radio, and audiobooks - whether working within major companies or as freelancers.

We work hard to ensure our judging panel represents the wide range of backgrounds and experiences in the industry, with support from Yassine Senghor of Confronting Change. Judges receive unconscious bias training, and are encouraged to consider barriers entrants may face, from access to resources to training and support.

We’re also proud to continue and expand the Pay What You Can scheme for 2026, supported by Amazon Music, offering reduced entry fees for those facing financial barriers.

All income from the APAs goes directly back into AudioUK’s work, including training via AudioTrain and developing a more inclusive industry. There’s always more to do, and we welcome ideas to help us make the Awards even more accessible, fair, and representative. Please get in touch if you have suggestions as to how we can continue to improve the awards, addressing any specific needs and/or experiences.
